On CyberDecks…

Not quite as DIY – teh Clockwork Pi uConsole

When your Adafruit Industries Cyber Deck HAT just isn’t cyberdecky enough… add some meccano!

CyberDeck with added meccano attached to Raspberry Pi 400
Adafruit’s CyberDeck HAT with added Meccano to support 5 inch HDMI display on Raspberry Pi 400
Meccano supports added on plastic standoffs
HDMI connector at the bottom of the screen
Short HDMI cable adapter fits onto 180ยฐ adapter PCB

Normally the HAT is held in place pretty tight, but I had to use an extender header as the 5.0″ screen’s HMDI connector along the bottom edge fouled the Pi 400’s case.

This was my first attempt at building a tiny CyberDeck: Pi Zero 2W, Adafruit 2.8″TFT LCD with @Solderparty‘s BBQ20 USB keyboard

(BBQ20 keyboard updated with modified firmware to make it more Linux friendly – adding keys like ESC/TAB etc.)

Tiny screen, tiny keyboard!

Then I tried the 5.0″ Elecrow HDMI screen, but most of the bulk of the whole setup was the HDMI connectors/cables ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Finally getting somewhere – the Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (all IO over the GPIO pins!) much neater and with better screen quality then the 2.8″ or 5.0″ screens. And so cute ๐Ÿ˜€

I modified the plastic bottom of the Flirc case to allow me to mount the Zero4U USB hub directly onto the Pi Zero.

And with Rii wireless keyboard too…

Or you could just add a Bluetooth keyboard to a smartphone…..
